Kanchenjunga Trekking - 25 days
|
| |
Kanchenjanga: This isolated trek takes place in Eastern
Nepal which is the home to Mt Kanchenjunga,
the third highest peak in Nepal. At 8596
meters this massive peak dominates the southern
range of the Himalayas. This section of
Nepal has only been open to trekking since
1988, which explains its richness of traditional
culture. This is one of the longer treks
we offer and has many possibilities for
extra days to explore different areas that
are surrounded by the great mountains of
eastern Nepal. The Kanchangunga area has
a profusion of high summits of which three
are above 8,000 meters and 11 above 7,000
meters.
Sikkim : The Land of Mountain
Crests," Sikkim, lies between the kingdoms
of Bhutan in the east, Nepal to its west
and Tibet to the north. This small stretch
of rugged land is but a speck on the world
map but its size belies its richness and
diversity of culture flora and fauna. Sikkim
is one of the most beautiful and untouched
areas in the Himalayas offering visitors
pristine nature in all its grandeur. The
worlds 3rd highest mountain, Mt. Khangchendzongna
(28,156 ft), and it’s attendant peaks
- Pandim, Narsing, Kabru, Talung, Siniolchu,
Pau-Hunri, Simvo, and Jopuno present a surreal
vista where local legends depict this area
as "the alter of the Gods. "The
tiny Himalayan state of Sikkim coupled with
near by Darjeeling in West Bengal offers
some very different visions of the Himalayas.
About trekking : This trek
will take you through some of the most beautiful
forests of Sikkim. In spring this trail
is especially beautiful with Rhododendrons,
Magnolias and other flowers in full bloom
- truly a naturalist's paradise. You'll
come close to Mt. Kanchenjunga and also
get an awe inspiring glimpse of the Sikkim
mountains, cloaked in granite and thickly
